5 tips for maintaining healthy nails!

Nails are one of the built-in indicators of your body's health. Below are 5 tips that are going to help you achieve your nail goals!

Good Nutrition

Everything you consume effects your body. Maintaining a well balanced diet is one of the most overlooked ways to ensure healthy and strong nails.

Health > Length

Weak or damaged nails have a higher chance of breaking. Therefore the best option for when your nails are weak/damaged is to keep them short.

Drink lots of water!

Staying hydrated is key! Be mindful of your water intake to make sure you are drinking a sufficient amount of water each day. If you are not drinking enough water your nails can become brittle and are more likely to break.

Do not bite your nails/pick at your cuticles!

Biting your nails or picking at your cuticles causes damage to the nail bed. Also, you can create small abrasions around your fingernail that can allow bacteria to enter.

Have a nail routine!

Just like there are skincare routines and hair routines, you have to have a nail routine! Whether that means taking the time to do a manicure at home or making sure you are meeting with your nail tech 1-2 times a month, having a nail routine is important and will keep you on top of your nail self care.
